"4 years ago, I got into an addiction. An addiction that I can’t get rid of. And that is the addiction to the gym. The starting point is the most difficult and the scariest but it’s up to you to decide that you are ready for change. Many give up on the process but some remain committed to reach their goals.
At first, I had the mindset of hitting the gym just to build muscle and look better, but I slowly realized that it is way beyond that. The feeling of you being in control of your body and witnessing how it changes over time is something indescribable. The ability to decide whichever part of your body that you would like to get stronger or to improve is so much more. Of course, it takes time and great discipline to achieve that. But think of it this way: everyone starts equally, and everyone used to be unfit. So don’t be afraid to take your first step into the gym. You’re not competing with everyone else in the gym. Instead, you’re competing with your past self. The gym can certainly be an intimidating place, but soon you will realize the gym community is some of the nicest people you will ever meet and they are always ready to help and guide you.
Some days, a day gets busier than anticipated, or I sleep through my alarm. That’s where the real challenge comes: to get yourself from your comfortable room to the gym. To overcome this challenge, I find that you need to obey the law of consistency. You must be consistent with the commitment that you made to yourself on the first day when you entered the gym. I have been going to the gym for the past 4 years and I have realized a huge difference in my way of living, my attitude towards day to day problems, and my self-confidence.
It is a never ending journey that is worth traveling, and thus I would like to invite whoever is reading to join the journey. With this, I wish you (and me!) good luck on this journey."
