How long does it take to run payroll end-to-end with brioHR?
Typically around 3 working days: review and approve claims, adjust additions and deductions, close payroll, process bank files, and pay statutory contributions.
How long does it take to process payroll after submission?
Just a few minutes. Once payroll is approved, simply download the bank files and upload them into your bank portal or statutory websites to complete payments.
Can payroll reports be generated by outlet or department?
Yes. Reports are first generated by payroll center, and you can then filter by department or office.
Can recurring allowances be bulk-updated for multiple users across payroll cycles?
Yes. Updates apply to one payroll cycle at a time. Payroll cycles and months always run sequentially.
If a recurring allowance changes mid-cycle, can BrioHR apply it automatically?
Yes. Use the Fixed Remuneration function to apply changes across all employees under that policy.
If a new recurring allowance starts mid-month (e.g. July 15), will BrioHR prorate it automatically?
Yes. The Fixed Remuneration function handles proration automatically.
Can we set fixed-value OT or allowances instead of using hourly or percentage formulas?
Yes. You can set allowances or OT as a fixed amount, as well as by hourly or daily rates. Percentage formulas are not supported.
Does brioHR support TP1 and TP3 forms in the system?
Yes. Tax reliefs (TP1/TP3) can be input directly in the system. PDFs are not generated as these forms are not submitted to LHDN.
Is there an income tax audit report that shows monthly PCB calculations from Jan to Dec?
Yes. Use the Report Builder → Employee Payroll Report (for individuals) or Company Payroll Report (for groups). PCB rows and columns are included
Are EA form values automatically generated, and do they reflect taxable vs. non-taxable components?
Yes. EA forms are mapped automatically, with exempt items (such as benefits up to allowable limits) placed in Part F.
Can the system generate a “Tax Exemption Report” showing only the taxable portion of allowances (e.g. Transport above RM6,000)?
No we don't have this as a report. the function for default tax exemptions with limits is there
Can BrioHR generate CP22, CP22A, and Borang E forms?
Yes. All forms are generated as ready-to-download PDFs.
Are CP39 files and bank files generated automatically?
Yes. Once payroll is finalized, all required files are instantly available for download.
Can custom OT formulas be created (e.g. based on Basic + Fixed Allowances ÷ 26 ÷ 8)?
Yes. You can configure which items to include in OT calculations and define working days and hours for each cycle.
Can OT be set as a fixed amount rather than an hourly rate?
Yes. Fixed-value OT is supported alongside hourly options.
Where can existing OT codes or formulas be managed?
All OT codes and formulas can be created and managed directly within the payroll settings module.
Are payslips automatically generated and distributed?
Yes. Payslips are automatically generated and visible in the employee app. You can also send them via email with one click.
Is there a report that breaks down payroll components by employee, outlet, or department?
Yes. The Company Payroll Report provides breakdowns that can be filtered by employee, outlet, or department.
Can access to payroll data be restricted by role or outlet?
Yes. Permissions can be limited by payroll centers to control access by role or outlet.
Is there an audit trail for payroll adjustments?
Payroll configuration changes made by admins are tracked. Exceptional “edit payslip” changes (post-processing) can only be done by BrioHR CS. While audit trails are not visible in-app yet, all records are stored in the database and can be extracted on request.
