Hari Raya Aidilfitri – 24 May
Malaysia is a multi-racial and multi-religious country with a population of 32.6 million people. One of the outstanding characteristics of Malaysia’s population is its highly varied ethnic mix. The ethnic groups of Malaysia consist mainly of the Malay community (67.4%), the Chinese community (24.6%), and the Indian community (7.3%). Other ethnic groups like the Eurasians and natives of West Malaysia and East Malaysia make up 0.7% of the population.
As a multi-ethnic nation, Malaysians are exposed to varieties of culture, social norms, and values. They are used to interacting and integrating with other ethnic groups. During festivals, different races come together to celebrate — which further strengthen the bonds of friendship and unity among Malaysians.
